I consider myself extremely fortunate to have Haberman Fabrics as my local fabric store.
[columnize]Located close to Detroit, in downtown Royal Oak, this place is a fantastic sewing resource. Not only is the store huge, but it is also well stocked with fabrics and notions for apparel and home decor projects. They also have one of the largest collections of bridal and lace offerings I have ever seen. All of the fabric they source is high quality, and they have a broad range of pricing including a sale area. The notions & trims are equally fantastic, with a wide array of choices. For instance, not only do they carry Petersham ribbon- they carry several different colors and sizes!
This store also has an extensive offering of classes for every level of sewist, and the samples are displayed nicely throughout the store. In fact, this was what hooked me on my current lingerie making lunacy, and you can read more about that here . I attended a bra making class earlier this spring and found both the instructor & classroom setting to be fabulous. I would not hesitate to sign up for another class in the future.
I am a regular shopper at Haberman Fabric’s since I recently moved to the Detroit area, and chose to return not only for the products but also the staff. Everyone I have encountered has been helpful, informative and kind. I highly recommend shopping at Haberman Fabric’s and would consider it a “must stop” destination if you are ever in the area. But beware, you might want to spend the whole day there!
