This week took me to Memphis for work, and although I didn’t get to do any sewing on this trip, I did get to see some signs of warmer weather! The spring flowers were out all around town, and I had to stop and marvel at the blooms. It’s always such an encouraging site to see the spring flowers bloom and I am grateful to have gotten a sneak-peak down south this week.
Aside from traveling, I also completed my first make from the Merchant & Mills Workbook. I decided to start with the Curlew T-Shirt and you can read more about my process here. I loved sewing this bias cut garment, complete with French seams and bias binding. The Workbook is such a great way to start a capsule wardrobe and I am looking forward to making several more pieces.
My pants block is finally finished and I am now working my way through flat patterning my trousers and jeans. I look forward to sharing those makes with you in the coming weeks and of course working in real-life with Brooks Ann Camper when I visit her studio again next week. We plan to work through some fitting questions I have and also tackle some hand sewing. I am so thankful to have this incredible resource and look forward to anytime my work schedule takes me close to her studio in North Carolina.
